Looking at our sub genre drama we can see that 55% of the public enjoys watching a drama film. Therefore our group has hybrid the genre to create a 'crime drama' so statistically we would do well in the filming market, using two genres to attract more people to the film.
Although these statistics show that women over 35, in the social class of A/B, enjoy drama film more, our target audience that we are aiming for is teenagers, 16-25 in the working/middle class. We believe that a 'crime drama' film will more likely appear to the working/ middle class because of the themes that we associate with a 'crime drama' which are themes like alcohol and fighting, so that audience may enjoy it more. This is the same for teenagers instead of women over 35. Films like this include 'Green Street', 'Train Spotting' and 'Kidulthood'. These films fit the genre and appeal to this audience because it is showing a characters day to day life as a working class citizen.
These statistics show that 19% of the pubic classes drama as their favorite film genre, making them 5th on the board. We think that this is quite a good statistic for our chosen genre because it shows that there are people who are interested in our chosen genre.
These statistics show what gender prefers a certain genre. We are looking at drama, most of the percentage of people who say drama is their favorite is women over 35 again. This is an occurring pattern within our chosen genre which suggests that the genre has committed watchers, who enjoy drama films. However because we are doing a 'crime drama' film opening it will attract both genders and different age groups because of the stereotypical content each category of people would like to see. For example- Men, fighting, law breaking. Women, love, the story behind the crime. Therefore it would appeal to a much wider audience rather than if we did crime or drama as a single genre for our film opening.
TA stuff looks good - well done
